- Tulle
- Embroidery Floss
- Faux Flowers
- Wood Beads
- Buttons
Motley Kids Non-Consumable Supplies
- Wire snips
- Glue guns
- Fine point sharpies
- Scissors
Steps to Make It
- Cut 1/3 off of a pipe cleaner (this will be the arms)
- Bend the remaining 2/3 in half to make the body and the legs
- Wrap a length of embroidery floss about 6-8 times around your fingers to make a long loop
- Place the loop of floss in the middle of the bent pipe cleaner so the looped ends stick up on both sides.
- Thread your wooden bead up onto the body (both legs through) and push it up to pinch the floss into place. Glue if it’s going to slide off over the floss.
- Wrap your arms around the body just below the head, then fold some hands.
- Thread some flower petals onto the body below the arms to make your fairy’s clothing
- Thread a small bell or bead up each leg to hold the petals in place (glue if needed)
- Fold some feet.
- Take a length of tulle and fold it in half twice, then use some embroidery floss to gather the middle. Tie. (you can do this with a needle to make gathers or you can wrap the floss around the middle and tie it off).
- Trim the ends of your wings
- Glue the wings onto your fairy’s back
- Clip the loops of floss on the fairy’s head to make strands of hair
- Trim, arrange, and glue down as desired for hairdo.
- Draw a face with fine point Sharpies
- Add hats, sequins, decorations as you choose.
