Steps to Make It
Superhero Cuffs:
Adults:
- Clean the soda bottle and remove the label.
You can use rubbing alcohol (if you have it) to remove any date stamps on the plastic or color over them with a dry erase marker and wipe off.
Use any oil (mineral oil or cooking oil) to remove the label adhesive if needed. - Cut the top and bottom of the bottle off and put them aside or recycle them
- Cut strips of the bottle about 1 1/2 – 2 inches wide.
If your kid can’t fit their wrist comfortably through them, you can cut a slit in one side, but it’s not necessary.
Kids:
- Decorate your fancy superhero cuffs with the Sharpies, stickers, and any sticky gems you might have. If you want to paint them, use acrylic paint
- Let them dry while you make your cape
Superhero Cape
Adults:
- Use your scissors to cut up the sides of the T-shirt and over the top of the sleeves, leaving the neckband intact for now.
- Cut the neckband up the middle to open it
- Attach Velcro to both sides of the middle opening
Anything tied at the neck is a choking risk and Motley Kids strongly recommends against it.
If you don’t have Velcro you can make a buttonhole closure.
Kids:
- Decorate your cape with markers, foam stickers, and bling
- Put on your cape and cuffs
- Leap tall buildings in a single bound!
