- Base layers
- Order matters – start deep and work outwar
- Paint order:
- Kilt/shoulders – Yellow
- Shirt – Purple
- Cloak – Red
- Skin – Green
- Horns – 1st Yellow, 2nd White
- Hair – Orange
- Weapon – Brown/Silver
- Accents – Silver/Gold/Blue
- Ground – Brown/Green/Gray
- 2 Layers with this paint, some may just need one.
- Wash – What is a wash and how to make/use
- Making – Mix a drop of dishsoap into a cup of water. Take 1-2 tsp of that water and mix in some drop of the black or brown paint into it. Should be very thin, but look opaque.
- Using a large brush, with the base coats are dry, brush the wash over the entire mini. It may look really dark, but let it settle and dry.
- May take 10-20 minutes or longer to dry, but let it get fully dry before continuing.
- Dry Brushing – What is dry brushing?
- Going to make highlights, lighter/brighter colors are most easily seen.
- Use mostly white and silver
- Dip the brush in paint, then wipe on the paper towels/paper until it stops leaving paint when you do
- Gently brush it over the area of the mini you want to highlight in that color. Should get a few streaks/highlights with the white.
- Other possibilities – Add highlight color to hair/skin.
- Other highlights
- To add some brighter bits to the cloak/shirt/etc, can brush small amounts of the base color over the higher parts of them to add color highlights
- Touchups
- If you find some spots that you missed, touch up again.
- Sealer
- If you are going to be playing with it, seal it.
- Matte vs Gloss
