Things That Happen
When Life Gives You Lemons
Cave Johnson is making lemon grenades! Steal a single lemon from the turret for this part of your challenge.
Required items:
- Motion-activated turret
- Lemons
- Lemon basket
Setup:
- Turn on the turret
- Set the lemon basket in front of it and fill with lemons
How to play:
The motion sensors on the turret can be evaded. Steal a lemon from the basket without setting them off and bring it to the Resistance.
I Can’t Let You Do That, Dave
HAL9000 is shutting down the ship. Wearing your space gloves (don’t take them off or you’re a goner), you’ll need to remove 1 of HAL’s cores.
Required items:
- Space gloves (we used large kitchen gloves)
- Balls or other round objects
- Bowls to put the balls in
Setup:
- Put the balls in the bowls
How to play:
Wearing the Space Gloves, you have to retrieve and transfer a core to the resistance.
Dalek
Daleks are invading! Impersonate a Dalek and steal their secret plans.
Required items:
- Plunger
- Dowel rod
- Object to transfer
Setup:
- Set up a start and end point for the object transfer
- Place the object in the starting bowl
How to play:
Holding the plunger with one hand and the dowel rod with the other hand, transfer the object to the Resistance.
Danger, Will Robinson!
You’re trapped on a spacecraft that’s directly in the path of a meteor storm! The dastardly Dr. Smith has sabotaged your computers and you’ll have to fly manually! Navigate safely to planetfall on the other side.
Required items:
- Traffic cones
- Styrofoam or ping-pong balls to use as meteors
- A ball
Setup:
- Set up the traffic cones in a slalom or minefield pattern
- Set balls on the top of the cones
How to play:
Using your feet, navigate the ship (ball) through the meteor storm without hitting any. If you knock a ball off of a cone, you have to start over.
You Will Be Assimilated
The Borg are hunting Starfleet members! Find and rescue your entire crew before they are assimilated.
Required items:
- 3d printed Starfleet badges of four types (command, medical, engineering, and science)
Setup:
- This requires permission of the vendors
- Stash Starfleet badges at vendor tables
How to play:
Kids must find and retrieve four different Starfleet badges from the vendor hall.
