Elevator Pitch
One does not simply walk into Mordor! You and your fellowship will need to get enough miles (1780) to make it across Middle-Earth and take the Ring to Mordor.
Today We’re Doing:
This is the long-form description of the day’s events.
Things That Happen
Building Barad-Dur
The Dark Eye is on you! Build a tower and top it with our decoy Eye of Sauron. We’ll award miles for the height of your tower in cm. It has to stand on its own.
Required items:
- Solo Cups
- Paper Plates
- Measuring Device
- “Eye of Sauron” — we used large googly eyes attached to plastic shot glasses
Setup:
- Give each team a stack of Solo cups and paper plates
How to play:
Teams will build the tallest tower they can using only cups and paper plates.
The tower must be topped with the Eye of Sauron.
The tower must stand on its own.
If you don’t have a measuring device: measure the height of a single cup and count tiers to estimate.
Miles: 2 per centimeter
Ringwraith Roundup
The Ringwraiths have found the hobbits on Weathertop! Search the Vendor Hall for hobbits in four different colors and bring them safely back to Rivendell. We’ll award miles for each hobbit rescued, up to four.
Required items:
- Hobbit figurines (four different types)
Setup:
- Contact vendors and ask for the OK to hide hobbits at their booths.
- Distribute hobbits for hiding
How to play:
We’ll stash hobbits around the dealer hall. Your Fellowship must find and retrieve all four colors.
Miles: 100 per hobbit

Required items:
- Two cones or Solo cups
- Craft sticks
- Paper or cardstock
- 8 figurines or objects, 1 ounce each
Setup:

How to play:

Dwarf Tossing
Sometimes you just really need to get the dwarf to the right place.
Required items:
- Bowling Set
Setup:
- Set up the pins just like you normally would
How to play:
Knock down the Orc pins with the Gimli bowling ball. 40 points per pin.
